Conference Theme: Interweaving Water Knowledge
For 11ASM, abstracts, papers and presentations can be submitted by delegates attending the conference in Victor Harbor.
In recognition of the diverse fields involved in the strategic planning for and management of waterways and their catchments we are seeking abstracts across diverse, interconnected themes.

By submitting your abstract by Friday 23 February 2024, you are nominating to contribute to the 11ASM Conference Proceedings.
If selected, you will receive a formal invitation in late March from the Conference Organisers to contribute to 11ASM, including:
A full paper (2 -8 pages) to be included in the Conference Proceedings to be prepared by Friday 26 April 2024 (required). Click here view Full Paper requirements
A peer review of another delegate’s paper, providing constructive feedback to optimise knowledge sharing to be prepared by Friday 31 May 2024 (required)
Authors will also be invited to prepare an optional presentation in one of two formats:
(a) A poster highlighting the main point from your paper accompanied by a 3 minute pitch presentation delivered in Victor Harbour; or
(b) A special feature length presentation (10 + 2 minutes) delivered in Victor Harbour.
Abstracts to conform to the following format and submitted to the 11ASM Editorial team, via the submission portal.
Title
A brief synopsis, in the form of 4 dot points (up to 250 words):
Why did you do it? – provide context, such as what prompted the work/project/initiative or what was the problem or knowledge gap you were seeking to address?
What did you do? – the methodology or process you followed
What have you learned? – what were the results or outcomes of your work, and how do they relate to the original problem
Why does it matter? – reflect on the broader implications of your work and how the learnings from it contribute to the body of knowledge relating to stream management and consider potential opportunities for application of these learnings to other situations
Author and contributor information in the form of a short biography (up to 150 words total)

Alert for Mac Users, if you are having trouble submitting your abstract, try submitting from a PC. If you are still having trouble, please contact the secretariat.
Alert for Mozilla users, the security policy in Mozilla often precludes the pasting from the clipboard without using the menu commands. You can still cut and paste your abstract into the submission; you will have to use the menu command rather than ‘control v’ shortcut.
Is your abstract text less than 300 words – it will not allow you to paste larger submissions. The word count does NOT include your title, author list or cited references
Do you have your abstract open and running on your own computer? – You need to be able to cut and paste it onto the submission system.
Do you have an image in your abstract? This conference is NOT accepting images.
Do you have a table in your abstract? If so, this can be inserted as an image during the submission process.

The first step in uploading your abstract is to record your personal details on your own 'Currinda Profile'. If you have already completed it for your registration or another ASN event, you will not have to repeat this, just 'log in' to your Currinda Profile. As you complete your registration you will receive a confirmation email. You will be able to upload your abstract via your personal profile.
You can use your email and password to access your abstract submission at any time. The presenting author must be the person submitting the abstract and they must do this from their own 'Currinda profile'.
You can cut and paste your abstract in several simple steps. The benefits of this system are many but include:
Allowing you to preview your abstract and make modifications to your satisfaction.
Ensuring you know your lodgement is completed as you will receive an immediate email confirmation.
Ensuring accurate indexing of all authors in the abstract book.
Ensuring consistent presentation of all abstracts in the proceedings (overarching formatting is imposed).
When you've finished the submission you will receive a confirmation email with your Abstract Submission Reference Number. You can view or edit your abstract by returning to your Currinda profile. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact ASN Events.

Changes can be made to your abstract until the scoring process begins. Simply return to your Currinda profile and select the Edit option under Abstracts tab. Please note the edit option will no longer appear once scoring has commenced.

Whilst rare, the Editorial Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any submissions. In this case, notification will be provided by no later than 1 April 2024.
